Welcome to Math and Science!I first came to Commodore Sloat as a student teacher, and fell in love with the school and community. Being able to work with Ms. Leishman and Ms. Schock, I learned a lot and was able to grow as a teacher. There are many things I have to learn in the upcoming years, but I have never felt more ready and capable.
I went through an accelerated Masters program for Teaching, which allowed me to take graduate classes as an undergraduate at the University of San Francisco. This will be my second full year in Fifth Grade, but I have been working at Commodore Sloat for the past three years. I have a bachelors in Mathematics and a Masters in Teaching from the University of San Francisco, so I am very excited to teach Math and Science this year! In my last semester of Undergraduate at USF, I was fortunate to travel and teach in Dangriga, Belize for three weeks at a K-8 school. It was an amazing experience, and it fueled my passion and love for teaching math and science! I am stoked to work with Ms. Braga this year. She and I share similar visions of the importance of empathetic, kind, and enthusiastic students, which we strive to incorporate into the general education. I find it's very important to empower students to be creative, curious, and lifelong learners. Lastly, I am thrilled to be the new Technology lead for the Commodore Sloat staff and the Anchor After-School Program Liaison. I look forward to working with everyone this year, especially the students!
